Advanced Squad Leader

Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) is the tactical WWII simulation wargame published by Avalon Hill in 1985, expanding on the 1977 original Squad Leader. Two players re-fight tactical WWII engagements at squad-and-vehicle scale on hex maps, using more than 400 pages of interlocking rules that model everything from morale to line-of-sight through wheat fields. A hobby unto itself, with active clubs, magazines and tournaments to this day.
