What is Card Magic?
Card magic is a branch of stage and close-up magic performed with a standard 52-card deck. Its bibles include S. W. Erdnase's 1902 The Expert at the Card Table, Dai Vernon's writings, and Roberto Giobbi's Card College series. Modern cardistry — flourishing playing cards for their own aesthetic sake — has spun off as a related art. From David Blaine's street work to competition cardistry on YouTube, card magic is arguably the most-practised magic discipline.
