Invented + popularised by DANIEL CYR (Quebec, Canada, 1996) — hence the name. Distinct from German Wheel (which has 2 parallel rims). Standard discipline at circus schools + competitions; part of CIRQUE DU SOLEIL routines + solo circus acts globally. Featured in AMERICA'S GOT TALENT + WORLD CIRCUS FESTIVALS.
