Dam

Dam (from Arabic dama) is the North-African-and-Middle-Eastern variant of draughts, played especially in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Depending on the region it may use an 8×8 (Turkish Dama, Damma) or 10×10 (Frenk-Dama) board. Unlike Western draughts, pieces move orthogonally rather than diagonally, and 'flying kings' can move any distance. It is one of the most popular street and café games across North Africa.
