What is Diablo?
Diablo is Blizzard Entertainment's landmark action-RPG series, launched in 1997. It effectively defined the modern action-RPG (or 'ARPG') loop — click enemies to attack, watch loot fall from their corpses, level up, choose skills, chase ever-rarer items. Diablo II (2000) is regarded as one of the greatest games ever made; Diablo IV (2023) crossed US$666 million in five days.
