What is Doppelkopf?
Doppelkopf (literally 'double head') is a German trick-taking card game for four players using a double Skat deck of 48 cards (24 unique cards, each in duplicate). Partnerships are usually determined by who holds the two Queens of Clubs and initially concealed. Rich in bids ('vorbehalte' — solos, marriages, hochzeit) and heavily played in northwestern Germany with an active competitive scene.
