What is Equestrian Vaulting?

Equestrian vaulting is a competitive discipline of gymnastics and dance performed on the back of a moving horse, cantering in a 15 m circle on a long lunge line. Athletes compete as individuals, pairs or teams of six or eight, scored on both compulsory exercises and a choreographed freestyle. The FEI Vaulting World Championships run every four years.
