Field archery is contested on an outdoor course of 24 paper targets set at marked or unmarked distances (up to 60 m) across wooded terrain. Archers must judge distance, wind and terrain — a huge step up from flat-range target archery. World Archery holds annual field championships in recurve, compound and barebow divisions.
