What is Halfpipe Skiing?
Halfpipe skiing is a freestyle Olympic event contested in a 200 m long, 6.7 m deep snow halfpipe. Skiers make roughly five to seven hits down the pipe, spinning, grabbing and inverting up to double-cork 1440s. Judges score amplitude, execution, difficulty and variety. It has been an Olympic sport since Sochi 2014.
