Hangman

Hangman is a pencil-and-paper word-guessing game with roots in Victorian Britain. One player thinks of a word and marks a dash for each letter. The other players guess letters one at a time; each wrong guess adds another line to a stick-figure hanging from a gallows (typically head, body, two arms, two legs — six wrong guesses). The guessers win if they solve the word before the drawing is complete. A staple of school break-times, cars and travel.
