What is Insuknawr?
Insuknawr (rod pushing) is a traditional strength contest of the Mizo people of Mizoram, north-east India. Two competitors stand inside a circle 4.6 m in diameter, each holding one end of an 8 ft bamboo rod under one armpit. Each tries to push the other completely out of the circle. Modern rules use best-of-three bouts across three weight classes.
