Is luge dangerous?+

How do you steer a luge sled?+

There's no rudder or handles for direct control. Steering is by: (1) Subtle shifts of body weight (millimeter precision). (2) Shin pressure against right or left runner (tilts sled). (3) Shoulder movement redistributes weight. Requires 10+ years of practice to perfect. Each track has ~15 curves; lugers memorize precise weight-shift pattern second-by-second.
