Mentalism

Mentalism is the branch of magic in which the performer appears to demonstrate paranormal mental powers — telepathy, precognition, mind-control, memory feats. Historical roots in 19th-century stage spiritualism; modern practitioners include The Amazing Kreskin, Uri Geller (controversially), Banachek and Derren Brown, whose television shows brought mentalism to mass audiences in the 2000s. Ethical mentalists always disclose they use natural rather than supernatural means.
