What is Scuba Diving?

Scuba (Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) diving became a recreational sport after Jacques Cousteau and Émile Gagnan invented the Aqua-Lung in 1943. Disciplines include recreational reef diving, technical mixed-gas diving to great depth, cave diving, wreck diving and ice diving. PADI, SSI and NAUI certify divers to progressive skill levels worldwide.
