What is Skimboarding?

Skimboarding began on the sand of Laguna Beach in the 1920s and split into two modern branches: wave skimboarding (short, thin boards used to ride shorebreak waves) and flatland skimboarding (longer boards used on rivers and lake shallows). The UST (United Skim Tour) sanctions the pro wave circuit.
