What is Superbike Racing?

Superbike Racing is motorcycle road racing on PRODUCTION-BASED SPORTBIKES (1000cc 4-cylinder or 1200cc twin-cylinder). Governed by FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme). PREMIER SERIES: FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP (WSBK / WorldSBK) — founded 1988. Distinct from MotoGP (prototype racing) — Superbikes are ROAD-LEGAL production bikes with racing modifications; MotoGP bikes are bespoke racing prototypes. FORMAT (WSBK): 12-13 rounds per year at circuits worldwide; each round has 2-3 races (SUPERPOLE RACE + RACE 1 + RACE 2). Points across all races determine champion.
