The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda is a landmark action-adventure video-game series developed by Nintendo, launched in 1986. It essentially invented the modern action-adventure genre — an open world to explore, dungeons to unlock, items with combinatorial uses, and a story of heroic quest. Landmarks include Ocarina of Time (1998), Wind Waker (2002), Breath of the Wild (2017) and Tears of the Kingdom (2023).
