What is The Sims?

The Sims is Will Wright's life-simulation franchise, launched by Maxis in 2000. Players design characters (Sims), build their houses, and guide them through jobs, relationships and daily needs — hunger, hygiene, bladder, fun, energy, social. Massively successful across four core titles (with The Sims 4 launched in 2014 still receiving expansions), it has sold over 200 million copies and defined the 'life sim' genre.
