What is Triple Jump?

The triple jump is an Olympic field event in which the athlete performs three linked take-offs — a hop, a step and a jump — after sprinting down the runway, landing in the sand pit. Coordination and speed conservation across all three phases are the technical challenges. Jonathan Edwards's 18.29 m world record from 1995 still stands.
