What is Vovinam?
Vovinam is a Vietnamese martial art founded in 1938 by Nguyễn Lộc. It combines strikes, kicks, wrestling and weapon work, and is famous for its dramatic "scissor kicks" (đòn chân tấn công) in which a fighter leaps and locks the legs around an opponent's neck. It is contested internationally under the WVVF.
