How it works

Objective

Complete course by visiting all checkpoints in order, FIRST as a TEAM.

Rules

Basic rules

  • TEAMS of 4 (mixed gender mandatory in most formats)

    Signature 4-person mixed team.

  • MULTI-DISCIPLINE: trekking, MTB, kayak/raft, navigation, sometimes climbing/ropes

    Signature multi-discipline.

  • NAVIGATION with MAP + COMPASS only — NO GPS allowed

    Signature no-GPS navigation.

  • TEAM MUST STAY TOGETHER (usually within 100m or 'shouting distance')

    Signature team-together rule.

  • CHECKPOINTS must be visited IN ORDER (some optional 'bonus' CPs)

    Signature checkpoint order.

  • MINIMAL SLEEP in expedition races (~2-6 hrs total over 5+ days); no forced rests

  • TRANSITION AREAS (TA) between disciplines; teams change gear + food
