Camel Racing

Camel racing is a distance racing sport traditional across the Arabian peninsula, North Africa, Central Asia and outback Australia. Modern Gulf races (contested in Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain) use lightweight remote-controlled robot jockeys strapped to each camel — the trainer follows in a 4x4 with a whip radio. Prize money at the top level exceeds $50 million per season.
